Sputnik V is not the same as the rest of the adenovirus vaccine. Its first and booster dose are made up of different vectors. The first dose is easier to make than the second dose. News agency Reuters quoted a Russian company making the vaccine, saying that you actually have to make two separate vaccines. Dealings with pharma companies of India and other countries have been done to increase production capacity.
According to Dr. Reddy’s, the vaccine has undergone soft launching. The first dose was held in Hyderabad on 14 March. The company is yet to say anything on the supply to the states. In a statement, it was definitely said that his talks are going on with the government and the private sector so that the vaccine can reach far and wide.
The second consignment of the Russian vaccine Sputnik-V has reached Hyderabad. Russian Ambassador N Kadashev has named it Russian-Indian vaccine and said that soon production of one dose Sputnik Light will also be emphasized.
